Butterfly Meadow

It's been a two-year project, adding pieces here and there. This insect sculpture installation has been a long time in the planning and making and it is now complete. No ordinary garden art bug sculpture, the scale of this project was beyond the scale of the single giant metal insect. The intention was to create an attractive tableau atop the client's roof for the primary purpose of mitigating the glare from the sun. This could have been achieved by the grass alone. So the secondary purpose of having the giant glass and metal butterfly sculptures was to provide a pleasing vista for the client and for all the neighbors living up the hill who's view includes this previously egregious aluminum roof.
